If actor and comedian Martin Mull was right and being a parent is like "having a bowling alley installed in your brain," then modern society — an overall pretty stressful place right now — is like having our own personal bowling alleys installed in the eye of a hurricane. The noise can be deafening.
For that reason, I've created a monthly newsletter called The Bowling Alley that makes space for some lighter fare. Included are recent news and blog posts from ParentShift, of course, but you also can expect to find recommendations for how to quiet your mind, maintain balance in turbulent times, and, hopefully, enjoy the business of life just a little bit more. It's my opinion that raising up great kids is only possible with periods of reprieve. Hopefully, The Bowling Alley will provide some of that for you.
