Since they agreed that there is no Gambler team anymore, they decided to take their sweet time on planning their expansion and they wanted to make it rapid.

However, while they are in the middle of that discussion...

The new team assigned to Nalvahan city has arrived. Almost all the members of that city's force have gone and died in that explosion. So, the team arranged for a new team to take over. However, the new team is a bit surprised by the situation here.

Because what they came to was an empty city.

And they are not considering the civilians. Because according to the formation strategy they have, the outer circle cities will not have any civilians. They are confused because there are no guards left.

The Gambler academy has of course assassinated them and cleaned the traces up.

And the new team didn't even have to unlock the formation with the special tokens they had. Because Sam has turned off the formation before they left.

The core got activated and all the defense mechanisms of the city are working properly. They even checked the alert mechanisms with some tests. Only after they are sure that everything is working as they should, did they contacted the Poseidon team and explained the weird situation they faced.

"Sir, I don't know what happened, but the people you said will be here, are not here. Maybe they defected or...."

The guy couldn't even finish the words and fell on the ground. He didn't show any signs of pain, nor could he do it. His body just froze and he fell on the spot. At the same time, the communication formation got turned off.

The man tried to move. He wanted to at least move his mouth a bit, but he couldn't. His mouth froze in the exact same expression as it had when he was speaking and it got stuck.

His eyes soon stopped worked. The guy could still feel that he is on the floor, but after a few minutes his body stopped feeling that as well.

All he could feel is that he is floating in nothingness. That is all. He lost all of his senses. Soon, even his mind started getting blurred. He forgot about what he was doing before he fell, then The forgot that he even fell.

Then he forgot who he was.

Finally, that last bit of thought is also gone.

His body is still breathing, but all of its spiritual energy has leaked out and it is refusing to absorb anymore of it. Even the body's natural state in which it would instinctually absorb the surrounding spiritual energy is gone.

In that state, his life left him.

He died. There is not a single sign of injury, there are no signs of poison, there are not traces of battle of assassination.

'Defend the core. All the transference points should be monitored. The enemies are dealing with the cities in a manner that we cannot understand. So, be careful. We will figure out the situation and inform you immediately.'

The mercenaries didn't know what was happening. Sam and the Gambler team stopped for a while after dealing with six cities.

"What do we do now?" Chetan asked Sam who is just looking at the map, particularly at the locations of the Poseidon team's cities.

"We will wait for a while to see how they will proceed. Their expansion has been halted. They either have to completely change the strategy, which will make them lose some more cities and give us a lot of openings.

Or, they will have to continue forward, for which they have to reclaim the lost six cities. In process, they are going to lose a lot of people and leave more cities open to us.

We will move accordingly."

"Why don't we just move forward with the current attacks? We will target each city like we did

the last six."

"What I used is a very dangerous trick. It kills without discrimination. So, the civilians will die. The only options we have are the three more cities left in the outer circle. But I want to

keep them there for now.

I am also sure that they must have fortified all the cores and nodes of the cities. There is no point in taking such a risk, when we are not planning complete annihilation with the next

move."

"Alright, then let's wait. But how long?"

"A day. Meanwhile, you can think of ways to pay me back." Sam said calmly while checking his

tablet.

"About that. Can we talk about it?"

"Yeah, I was thinking the same. We didn't discuss the interest rate. Here it is."

Sam threw another tablet at him with the details. Chetan was dumbfounded.

He didn't know what to do but stare at his teammates for help. But they acted like they don't

know what's happening.

With that, the team followed around Sam as they waited while roaming around the Poseidon academy's territory for the next day to come.

And just as Sam anticipated, the other party made a move. Falling within Sam's expectations, they decided to opt for one of the two options.
