Chapter 406: Property Acquisition
Chapter 406: Property Acquisition
I took the scroll that was on the top as Tryzara sat on the chaise opposite me. The scroll had a roughly drawn image of what it looked like from the entrance to the estate it was on.Reading through the scroll a little further, I saw some detailed drawings of the layout and some more specifics of the actual building such as the interior layout and which room was for what purpose.
The only problem was that this one was far too large for me. I mean I only wanted this so that I could live there along with my friends and not have to worry about much else afterwards.
Regardless, I had many more to look through, and this one was on a bit too steep of a slope for my liking, so I set this one aside and picked up the next one in the pile and began to read through it. And then the next one. And then the one after that.
And after many tireless hours of reading, I had finally sorted through all my options and ended up with just a few of them left that I’m actually interested in. Four of them in total to be exact.
"Hmm..." I deliberated on which one I wanted as I looked over the scrolls, which were currently closed. "I think I’d like to see these one’s in person if that’s alright."
"But of course. I wouldn’t expect anyone to choose somewhere to settle without seeing the place at least once." Kryzara smiled as she got up, taking one of the scrolls and unfolding it to see where it was located before she started to lead me out to actually go and see it.
I picked up the rest and put them inside my spatial storage so that we wouldn’t have to keep coming back here over and over again.
When we got outside though, I suggested an easier method of transportations.
"Why, don’t I just teleport us there?"
"You could, if you can actually teleport us there. How does that work though? Do you have to have already visited the place beforehand or?" She inquired.
"No, I just have to be able to see it, which I should be capable of doing. I just need to know which direction it is to make the search easier and faster."
"Ah, it should be in..." She checked the scroll once more before pointing out in a direction. "That way. Roughly."
I closed my eyes and extended my vision in that direction, widening it slowly in the incredibly likely case that it isn’t exactly where she pointed.
And after some time, I was able to locate it. "Found it."
"Ah good. Let’s head over there then, shall we?"
I nodded and held her shoulder, which made her twitch a little in shock as she suddenly found the both of us no longer outside the Sect Palace’s entrance and instead in front of the first manor house that I was interested in.
"A-Ah, we’re here." She sputtered awkwardly as she got her bearing back after being teleported so suddenly.
"Sorry, I’ll give you time to prepare yourself next time." I apologised, letting go of her shoulder and rubbing the back of my head a little sheepishly.
"I-It’s alright, I just wasn’t expecting you to teleport us so quickly. I thought it would take some time before you could teleport the both of us like that."
I clarified how it worked a little so she better understood, "No, I just need to know where I am and where I’m going as well as the Mana needed to cross that distance and I’m good."
"I see. Anyways, let’s get started with the tour then, shall we?" She suggested, now fully recovered.
"Yes, lets." I nodded as I followed her into the manor.
She began by explaining who it belonged to and why they had it designed here and the way it was, but I cut her off as I wasn’t interested in its history. I was just here to have a look at the place personally.
She coughed and apologised before moving on to guide me through the manor, showing me all the rooms on the ground and first floor as well as the basement it had, which also had a cellar still filled with various wines and alcohols.
All the while explaining the benefits for why I would want to live here without sounding too patronising.
The garden around was very small in comparison to the size of the house, which was fifty metres both ways with a fifteen-metre gap in the middle where another garden was. The outer garden barely reaching five metres between the manor walls and the fence surrounding it.
I decided after seeing this place in person that this wasn’t the right place for me. The way the building itself was built just didn’t sit right with me, not to mention it was far too big for me to handle actually living in it.
We then moved onto the next manor and began touring it, and once again, explaining the benefits of living here.
This one seemed like a good contender for the time being. With a length of around forty by twenty metres, with a small section jutting out on one end, protruding by about ten metres and being fifteen wide on the left of the entrance.
On top of the nice size, it had a basement just like the last, but also two floors atop the ground floor. However, the second floor only covered a portion of that level, with the rest being a balcony where the extension part was and a bit behind looking from the front.
I liked this one a lot more. It had an ample amount of space without it feeling too boring or too constraining. This place had a little personality to it. At least I like to think it does, what with its roof balcony and protruding sections.
Said protruding section actually being an extension that the previous owner had installed just before they were deposed.
I thought that was pretty funny. They wasted their time with installing an extra extension into their house, and they never got to use it.
Anyways, we moved onto the third manor, which was somewhat circular in nature. It was built like an n or a u in lowercase, but instead of square corners, it had curved ones. Not on the tips, just when going between the extended areas.
It also had two floors a ground floor and a basement, which had both a dungeon and a cellar beneath that, making for a total of five floors of space.
The layout was rather weird though, with all the curved corners making it very difficult to properly place everything in a way that makes it annoying to get around and just quite plainly confusing for those who didn’t know where anything was.
Then we moved onto the fourth and final manor that I had selected to look at.
This was less of a manor than it was a tower. To be honest, I was never going to choose this one, I was just curious at seeing what it was like. It’s probably going to be given to or bought by a powerful and prolific magic user at some point.
And I think Tryzara could guess as much once she saw the scroll containing its information. She looked up and me with a raised brow and I merely looked away with a coy smile whilst sticking the tip of my tongue out.
Still, she did her job and gave a tour of the place regardless. And unlike the wizard towers I’d heard so much about from tales my father had told me of them, this place was instead decked out with books. Like a lot of books. An absurd number of books. There was a kitchen, some empty storage area, a bathroom and bedroom. But other than that, it was just books. Kind of underwhelming really.
Once we finished the tour of tower, which included taking a few minutes to look out at the city from the highest room, we left the tower and Tryzara turned to give me a knowing smirk as she spoke, "So, second manor it is then?"
I smiled sheepishly as she had read me like a book as I responded with, "Yeah, I like it the most. Plus, it has plenty of room without making me feel like it’ll be wasted."
"Alright then. Let us head back to my office and we can officiate your ownership of your new home." She said with a genuine heartwarming smile.
I returned it with a similar smile as I teleported us back outside the Sect Palace’s entrance as she led me back to her office where she fished out some kind of document, where I had to sign it with my full name. Even my father’s name.
Once I finished signing, the paper began shining for a moment before Tryzara gave it a once over just to make sure everything was fine before finally handing it to me.
"You are now official owner of this property now. If you’d like, we can send some of the Acolytes to serve as maids to help with the upkeep of the place."
