Chapter 52 Hostile Survivors
Chapter 52 Hostile Survivors
Another troublemaker?
Su Jin frowned, looking warily and impatiently toward the direction of the sound.
It was a man wearing an open red shirt, or rather, a young upstart.
With his blond hair and arrogant expression, he looked exactly like a street thug.
He had absolutely no liking for these kinds of people, because once when he parked his car on the side of the road to go to a convenience store, a few idiots like these punctured all his tires.
Not only did they puncture his car, but they also urinated on his car wheels. They have absolutely no moral bottom line!
That day, while dealing with these troubles, he climbed the mountain late and missed watching the sunrise from the summit the next day.
His good mood for the whole trip was ruined by those idiots; he had already planned his itinerary perfectly.
Su Jin coldly stared at the blond-haired archer, who was holding a crudely made short wooden bow and was incredibly arrogant.
The bowstring was still vibrating slightly, and a new wooden arrow was already nocked.
The kid raised his chin, glanced at me sideways, and his face was full of arrogance, as if he thought he was in charge of this territory.
"What are you looking at?" Huang Mao raised his voice again when he saw him looking over, pointing at the fish piled up beside Su Jin's boat with the tip of his bow.
"I've been squatting here for ages, and you've scared all the fish away! Don't you know anything about first come, first served?"
In the tattered wicker basket at his feet, there were only two small fish, both pitifully thin.
Looking at Su Jin's nearly full cargo and the conspicuous paddlewheel trolley, the jealousy and greed in his eyes were almost impossible to conceal.
"Just getting out of here won't do."
The blond-haired man drew his bow, this time aiming the wooden arrow at Su Jin's head, his tone arrogant as if he were bestowing charity.
"You scared all my fish away, you have to pay for it! These fish on your boat, and this boat itself, will be compensation!"
He licked his lips, his gaze on the ship growing even more intense.
"Leave your things here, swim back yourself. I'm in a good mood, so I'll spare your life. If you dawdle any longer, the next arrow will send you to feed the fish!"
Su Jin's eyes turned completely cold.
He didn't say anything, but just gripped the oar tightly and began to pedal hard.
It's pointless to argue with this idiot; it's a complete waste of time.
If a dog bites you, are you going to bite back?
More importantly, he currently has no ranged weapons at hand.
The harpoon is out of reach, and rushing in to fight might result in being shot from the shadows; moreover, the benefits and risks are clearly disproportionate.
Therefore, the most sensible thing for him to do right now is to leave.
His first impression of the archipelago was terrible!
First it was that hostile spear-wielding man, and now it's this greedy and arrogant blond guy.
They were all like wild dogs guarding their food, baring their teeth at anyone they saw.
"If only we had ballistae..."
As Su Jin pondered this, his gaze swept over the rock where the blond-haired man stood.
If he had that thing, he'd dare to shoot it down right now and shut that idiot up forever.
He felt a fire burning in his chest, but he suppressed it.
Now is not the time; there will be plenty of opportunities in the future!
The bow of the ship slowly turned around, began to accelerate, and headed towards the open waters on the other side of the inland sea.
"Hey! Are you fucking deaf?!" Huang Mao felt embarrassed when he saw that Su Jin not only didn't reply but also turned around and left.
He felt completely ignored, like a clown yelling and shouting with no one paying attention to him, and his temper flared up.
"I told you to leave your stuff here! Did you hear me?!"
The blond-haired boy was furious and, without bothering to aim properly, suddenly released the string.
call out!
The sound of something cutting through the air was much sharper than before!
A wooden arrow plunged into the water less than a meter to the left of Su Jin's stern, its fletching trembling violently as it entered the water with tremendous force.
Su Jin's heart sank suddenly.
wrong!
How could a crudely made short wooden bow, with arrows made from such broken wood, possibly have such accuracy and power?
unless……
It's this kid's talent!
And it's specifically designed to enhance bows and arrows!
Su Jin instantly abandoned all his contempt, lowered his body slightly, and slammed his foot on the pedal, causing the boat to accelerate and change direction.
He currently has no means of long-range counterattack, and remaining within the enemy's firing range makes him a sitting duck.
Reason told him that he had to create distance immediately.
"Damn it, almost!" The blond-haired man was furious when he saw that his first arrow had missed, allowing his opponent to escape faster.
He drew his bow again, this time aiming more intently, a fierce confidence, typical of a gifted individual, flashing across his face.
call out!
The second arrow flew, but Su Jin's boat had already begun to zigzag, and the arrow grazed the side of the boat before falling into the water.
"Damn it!" The blond-haired guy was a little embarrassed and kept pulling the bow.
The third arrow, the fourth arrow...
But Su Jin's ship was getting further and further away. His talent required sufficient skill and practice to deal with long-distance targets and moving targets, which he clearly lacked.
The arrows went increasingly astray, missing the edge of the boat altogether.
"You run! You just wait, you bastard!"
Huang Mao stood on the reef, jumping up and down, watching helplessly as the fine boat and its full hold of fish sailed away from him, so angry he felt like his lungs were about to explode.
He yelled, his voice hoarse with rage and frustration:
"I'll remember this! If there's a next time, I'll kill you! I'll riddle you with bullets, boat and all!"
Su Jin had already driven a safe distance away. He turned back and gave a cold glance at the figure who was raging impotently on the reef, remembering the face and the blond hair.
He didn't utter any harsh words, but simply turned around and continued to steer the boat away.
But the knuckles of the hand gripping the oar were slightly white from the force.
He'll remember what happened today!
The day he has long-range weapons, he will make the other party pay back double for this debt.
As Su Jin's ship gradually reached the center of the inner sea, the yellow-haired boy's voice could no longer be heard, and the surroundings were completely silent.
He rubbed his hands together; now no one would bother him while he fished!
But then, to his dismay, he discovered that the depth of the Central Sea area was still too great, and the marine life was all on the seabed, so he couldn't reach it at all.
It seems that if he wants to catch fish, he needs to get a little closer to the edge of this fishing ground.
Su Jin looked around and found that there were quite a few people, but not enough to match the number of islands.
Of the 10 islands, he probably only saw 7 people. One person was even between two islands, and he didn't see anyone on the beaches in front of one or two islands.
He narrowed his eyes, unsure of the situation here, but since no one was around, he figured he might as well go over and take advantage of the situation.
Then, in full view of everyone, he went to a spot not far from an island and frantically started fishing using a method unknown to others.
This scene stunned a chubby boy in the distance, who almost dropped the small fish he was holding.
He worked himself to the bone for ages before finally catching a small fish. He didn't dare touch the large stone slab fish, but Su Jin kept scooping them up onto the boat like vegetables.
It's true what they say, comparisons are the thief of joy!
Su Jin didn't care about other people's opinions. He was extremely happy. Where else could he catch so many big fish?
Just as he was having a great time raking in the fish, a slightly hoarse voice reached his ears.
"Hey bro, look this way, wanna chat a bit?"
