Chapter 20 Who do you think you are?
The Sand Mercenary Group.
A dozen or so people were gathered in the hall; they were all mercenaries who had just escaped.
They were all injured, their clothes stained with blood; some had lost an arm, and some had a limp.
Rob sat in his chair, looking at them with a furrowed brow.
"Captain, you must do us justice!" A mercenary knelt on the ground, his voice hoarse. "The Mo Tie Mercenary Group injured us and killed more than a dozen of our brothers."
Rob's face darkened. "The Desert Iron Mercenary Group?"
"Yes," another mercenary said. "The one who made the move was a young man, who I heard is the younger brother of two captains of the Desert Iron Mercenary Group."
Rob tapped his fingers on the table, making a dull sound.
Xiao Ding and Xiao Li's younger brother?
He had lived in Shimo City for so many years, and had always kept to himself and the Mo Tie Mercenary Group. Xiao Ding was a man of principle, and although Xiao Li was a bit impulsive, he never dared to touch his people.
Now look what's happened, some young punk came along and killed his men?
"What's that boy's strength?" Rob asked.
"I don't know." The mercenary lowered his head. "We're no match for him. He could kill one of us with a single blow."
Rob was silent for a moment. He could kill an ordinary mercenary with a single palm strike, so there was nothing surprising about it.
"Captain, this can't just end like this." A mercenary looked up. "Our brothers can't have died in vain."
"Yes, we need to teach the Desert Iron Mercenary Group a lesson," another mercenary chimed in.
"Let them know who's in charge in Stone Desert City."
Rob stood up, took a large knife from the wall, and hung it back on his waist.
"Walk."
"Commander, where to?"
"The Desert Iron Mercenary Group," Rob said coldly.
Outside the gate of the Desert Iron Mercenary Group.
It was already getting dark.
The two guards standing at the gate saw a group of people approaching from a distance, and their expressions immediately changed.
Leading the group was Rob, followed by dozens of skilled fighters, each exuding a murderous aura.
"Go and report to the commander immediately," a guard whispered.
The other guard turned and ran into the courtyard.
Rob walked to the door and looked at the guards in front of him. "Call Xiao Ding and Xiao Li out."
The guard stood up straight. "Our commander is not here."
Rob raised his hand and slapped the guard in the chest. The guard's body flew backward, crashed into the door, slid to the ground, and died.
"Charge in." Rob waved his hand.
The people behind him immediately rushed through the gate, and the mercenaries of the Mo Tie Mercenary Group, hearing the commotion, rushed over, and the two sides started fighting inside the gate.
Rob's men are all skilled members of the Sand Mercenary Group, and their strength is considerable; the ordinary mercenaries of the Desert Iron Mercenary Group simply cannot stop them.
Screams, the clanging of weapons, and pleas for mercy were all mixed together.
In a short while, more than a dozen members of the Desert Iron Mercenary Group lay on the ground, some dead, some wounded, and some unable to get up.
Rob stood in the center of the courtyard, looking around. "Xiao Ding, Xiao Li, get out here."
A mercenary from the Desert Iron Mercenary Group took advantage of the chaos to run into the hall.
Inside the lobby.
Xiao Ding was sitting in a chair drinking tea, while Xiao Li stood by the window.
"Captain, something terrible has happened!" A mercenary rushed in, panting. "The Sand Mercenary Group has come to our door."
Xiao Ding put down his teacup. "How many people?"
"Dozens of them, and the one leading them seems to be their leader, Rob," the mercenary said. "The two guards at the gate have already been killed."
Xiao Li's expression changed. "That old bastard Rob dares to touch our people?"
"He said he was looking for the two captains' younger brother," the mercenary said. "He wanted to kill him."
Xiao Ding and Xiao Li exchanged a glance.
Looking for Xiao Yanzi?
"Where is Xiao Yanzi?" Xiao Ding asked.
"The third commander is in the backyard," the mercenary said. "He hasn't come out yet."
"Don't let him out." Xiao Ding stood up. "We'll handle it."
Xiao Li stood up and took his weapon from the wall.
The two walked out of the hall and headed towards the main entrance.
Outside the gate.
Rob stood amidst the corpses, the men behind him having taken control of the entire front yard.
The mercenaries of the Desert Iron Mercenary Group were cornered, and none of them dared to move.
Xiao Ding and Xiao Li came out and their faces turned grim when they saw the corpse on the ground.
"Commander Luo Bu, what do you mean by this?" Xiao Ding said coldly.
Rob looked at him with disdain. "What do you mean? Your brother injured and killed my men. What do you mean by that?"
"Hand over that kid, and I'll spare your lives."
Xiao Li was furious. "Bullshit!"
Rob turned his gaze to Xiao Li. "You're Xiao Li?"
"So what if it is?" Xiao Li said.
"I've heard you're quite capable," Rob said. "Come on, let me see what you're really made of."
Just as Xiao Li was about to rush forward, Xiao Ding stopped him.
"Big brother, move aside." Xiao Li pushed Xiao Ding's hand away.
"You are no match for him," Xiao Ding said in a low voice.
"So what?" Xiao Li said. "Are we going to let him shit on our heads?"
Xiao Ding fell silent.
Xiao Li drew his weapon and walked towards Luo Bu, who stood still without moving.
When Xiao Li rushed in front of him, he raised his hand and slapped him. Xiao Li swung his knife and slashed, but Luo Bu dodged to the side and slapped Xiao Li in the chest.
Xiao Li's body flew backward and crashed to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
"Second brother." Xiao Ding quickly stepped forward to help him up.
Rob stood there watching them, a mocking smile on his lips.
"You dare to talk back to me with such little strength? The Desert Iron Mercenary Group is nothing special."
Xiao Li gritted his teeth and tried to stand up, but the pain in his chest made him unable to exert any strength.
"The Desert Iron Mercenary Group has only managed to survive in Stone Desert City by luck, hasn't it?" Rob said. "Xiao Ding, your brother's only skill level, and you still dare to let him embarrass himself like this?"
Xiao Ding's face was ashen, and he remained silent.
Rob took a few steps forward. "Hand over that kid, or none of you are leaving here today."
Xiao Ding raised his head, about to speak, when a voice came from behind him.
"Keep the change, please."
Everyone looked in the direction from which the sound came. Xiao Yan walked out of the gate with no expression on his face.
Xiao Ding's expression changed. "Little Yanzi, what are you doing out here?"
"Let's go back," Xiao Li said. "You don't need to lift a finger here."
Xiao Yan ignored them and walked up to Luo Bu. Luo Bu looked him up and down. "You're Xiao Ding and Xiao Li's younger brother?"
"Yes," Xiao Yan said.
"You wounded my men, you killed my men," Rob said. "What do you say we do about this?"
"What do you want to do?" Xiao Yan asked.
Rob sneered, "Kneel down and kowtow three times to me, then hand over that woman named Qinglin and I might spare your life."
Xiao Yan looked at him and said, "Say it again."
Rob frowned. "I said kneel down and kowtow three times to me, and hand over Qinglin. Can't you understand human language?"
Xiao Yan said calmly, "Who do you think you are?"
Rob's face darkened completely. In all his years in Stone Desert City, no one had ever dared to speak to him like that.
"Dare to insult me?"
"So what if I insult you?" Xiao Yan said. "Does someone like you even dare to yell at me?"
Enraged, Luo Bu slapped Xiao Yan with all his might, his fighting spirit condensing in his palm and carrying a sharp gust of wind.
Xiao Yan stood still, waiting for Luo Bu's palm strike to reach him before casually raising his hand and waving it away.
"Bang."
With a muffled thud, Rob's body flew backward and crashed to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
The members of the Sand Mercenary Group were all stunned. Their leader was a Grand Battle Master, yet he was sent flying by a single palm strike.
Luo Bu got up from the ground, his face pale, and looked at Xiao Yan with shock in his eyes.
"You... what exactly is your strength?"
