Chapter 28 We've taken him down!
Chapter 28 We've taken him down!
With such a beautiful face right in front of her, Su Lan felt a little flustered.
He deliberately released his spirit, intending to control the ocean current to push himself away, just like before.
It's not for any other reason than that we're too close, and it would be impolite to accidentally bump into each other. He's not strong enough right now, so he still needs to respect his teacher.
But this time, it seems there's a problem with the water control.
Instead of creating distance, Su Lan pressed herself against him.
"You!" Xia lightly dodged, and patted Su Lan's head as she did so: "You can't use your supernatural abilities on others."
"Within the same 'source,' higher-level beings have an extremely strong suppressive effect on lower-level beings," she explained with a light laugh. "See, the abilities are all mixed up now, aren't they?"
"Origin?" Su Lan asked curiously.
Since his abilities were useless, he simply stayed where he was and let Sia carry him upwards.
"You can simply think of it as factions of ability; for example, our scales point to the old..."
Sia stopped talking and changed the subject: "Your 'trait' is very interesting; I haven't seen it in anyone else."
Su Lan realized that "Origin" was another kind of "secret that can't be told," and hearing it would probably cause her to disconnect.
He remembered the word "special quality" very clearly; it was the most important part that distinguished extraordinary individuals from ordinary professionals.
"Isn't my special trait water control?" Su Lan asked, puzzled.
He had just discovered that he felt an unusual affinity for seawater and assumed it was related to his ability to control water.
He even considered going out to learn some water magic, believing it would lead to rapid progress.
"That's just an appearance," Sia said, a meaningful smile playing on her lips. "Your true trait is 'assimilation.'"
"Assimilation?" Su Lan was taken aback.
"Yes, you have become part of the sea, which is why it flows according to your will."
With a splash, the two emerged from the water. Sia skillfully summoned bubbles, leaned against them, and continued:
"You tried to use your abilities on me, but of course you couldn't assimilate me. Instead, you brought yourself and your thoughts to me."
Su Lan vaguely understood her own traits and tried it out by facing the air.
A gentle breeze blew by, and Xia's hair was gently lifted.
"The little guy has good comprehension. Using a medium to indirectly influence the target is a common tactic used by superhumans," Xia praised.
"It's all thanks to my mentor's excellent teaching," Su Lan said modestly.
Surprisingly, Xia was quite taken with it, wagging her tail fin back and forth.
"It's almost time, you should go back." She suddenly dived into the sea and quickly submerged.
Before leaving, he left a meaningful remark: "The extraordinary and the alien are always drawn to each other. If you encounter any trouble, think more about your special qualities."
As the sound of the tide receded, Su Lan returned to her mental sea.
"Think more about traits?" He shook his dizzy head, seemingly lost in thought.
Is this an indication that he can use "assimilation" to break through the fog?
……
Su Lan missed the sleeping pills she had before.
If you hadn't drunk that extra sip, you could have just diluted it with water and added some sugar to make a calming sweet soup.
Now that it's gone, we have to find another way.
There is a chef in the territory, but the food he makes is indescribable; it can only barely fill one's stomach.
He didn't have any soup ingredients like calming herbs or snow frog.
For a time, Su Lan couldn't even get a soup that met her requirements.
There were some extra bedding at home, but the air humidity in Black Reef Fjord was very high. Even though Reed had someone air them out every sunny day, the bedding was still stiff and had nothing to do with being soft and soundproof.
Su Lan thought this time's "Last Wish" mode would be easy, but she was stumped by the first challenge, which made her a little worried.
"Su Lan, I'm back from gathering intelligence!"
Tia's voice came from downstairs, then she climbed the stairs and pushed open the door.
A flash of inspiration struck Su Lan, and she sat bolt upright in bed: "I've got it!"
"What's that?" Tia asked, puzzled but impressed.
"We had no guns, no cannons, the enemy made them for us!" Su Lan said excitedly. "Tia, do you remember Sean's villa?"
"Is it that one not far from the altar? I just went there to check; it's right on the edge of the alien realm, and there are even more iron lumps than last time!"
Tia realized, "Could there be some treasure inside?"
"You'll find out when the time comes," Su Lan said, keeping him in suspense. "You go and rest first. We'll set off later and make a quick buck out of him!"
……
That evening, Su Lan and Tia bypassed the alien land by following the edge of the thick fog, and once again visited Sean's territory.
Since Sean struck first, he was acting in self-defense and felt no pressure in retaliating.
"Su Lan, can you smell it?" Tia poked her head out of the ground, her nose twitching. "It smells like mushroom soup!"
Su Lan's nose wasn't that sensitive, but he saw wisps of smoke rising from a corner of the courtyard.
Making soup in the kitchen in the middle of the night, what a coincidence!
"That's the kitchen, right? There sound like people are talking in the yard. Let's go check it out first, then we'll go to the kitchen," Su Lan said in a low voice.
With the arrival of the alien realm, Sean's guards were clearly on high alert.
The patrol teams were changed to groups of three, and the frequency of patrols increased significantly.
The two of them were like gophers this time, only able to peek out occasionally, sneak a quick look, and then quickly burrow back into the ground.
In the open space in the center of the villa, more than twenty knights stood in neat rows, with a sharp-looking professional giving a speech at the very front of the line.
Because she was hiding underground, Su Lan couldn't hear very well, but fortunately, Tia was there.
"Entering again in the latter half of the night...accessing the outer resources...finding the alien lord...setting up an altar..."
Her ears twitched, and she repeated softly, "The calming soup...discontinue..."
"How is it?" Su Lan nudged Tia.
"The show's over," Tia said, turning around.
"They said that after the calming soup is brewed, everyone should have a bowl, and then we'll go into the foreign land later in the night."
She organized her thoughts: "First, we need to clear the perimeter, gather resources, then search for clues about the Lord of the Otherworld. It seems we also need to set up an altar or something, but I didn't hear the rest..."
Su Lan was pleasantly surprised to hear this.
I originally just wanted to come here to check things out and see if I could get a couple of blankets, but I didn't expect that a calming soup would come along too!
Unexpected, yet perfectly logical.
That makes sense. The pollution concentration in other realms is usually much higher than in the outside world, but items that can resist pollution are very expensive, so Sean can't possibly provide them to everyone.
As a result, calming soup became the most common treatment.
One bowl of this can soothe the mind, alleviate pollution, and prolong the duration of continuous combat, making it extremely cost-effective.
But this operation just happened to benefit Su Lan.
"Let's go to the kitchen!" he ordered.
"Are we going to poison them?" Tia suddenly realized, reached out and fumbled for a moment, then pulled out a bottle of potion:
"I haven't buried the ones Kahn gave me yet, might as well throw them in their pot!"
Get ready to try!
"No, no, no!" Su Lan quickly stopped her.
If he was really poisoned, what would he drink?
"Let's take them all, pack them up and take them away!"
Literally, it means "take them all in one go"!
