Chapter 22 Who invited me to a buffet?
Chapter 22 Who invited me to a buffet?
"Su Lan, that tent..." Tia whispered.
"Oh, that?" Su Lan replied without changing her expression.
"I'm afraid we'll get sleepy if we get 'drunk' later, and it's too easy to catch a cold late at night. With this, I can lie down and rest anytime."
As he spoke, he casually took out the "special sleeping wine" and set out two glasses.
With a "pop," the cork was pulled out.
A strange medicinal fragrance spread out.
Tia sniffed, her already dizzy head spinning even more.
As the strange purple liquid filled the glass and was pushed in front of her by Su Lan, she swallowed hard.
"Is this...is this fruit wine? I can't smell any alcohol, and it seems to have a very high concentration of magic..."
"It's homemade, made with a lot of herbs, so it's quite potent. Don't worry, it's very safe."
Su Lan forced an explanation, raising her glass in a gesture of respect.
The atmosphere had already reached this point, so Tia had no choice but to pick up the strange fruit wine and clink glasses with Su Lan.
Su Lan took a deep breath.
Success or failure hinges on this!
He stood up, looked at Tia whose face was flushed, cleared his throat, and slowly recited the poem "Like a Dream":
"To this crimson night, and to you, who are unique before me."
Tia was wondering what Su Lan was suddenly muttering when she heard the words "unique". Her round ears stood up immediately, and she bristled on the spot.
The toast had to be read in one go, so Su Lan ignored Tia and continued reciting.
"Let the fine wine in this glass melt away all the troubles of the world. Close your eyes, empty your mind, and don't resist this intoxication."
"I wish to share with you the deepest, sweetest dream."
Tia's gaze suddenly shifted to the open tent behind Su Lan.
There were two pillows and a blanket inside the tent.
"He wants me to close my eyes and drift into a sweet dream? Su Lan really wants to be with me in the tent... and there's poisonous fog outside, this is too exciting?!"
"No, no! I'm contaminated. If he touches me now, he'll definitely mutate. I have to refuse! At most... at most, I'll let him hug me!"
"But how should I put it? He won't think I'm unwilling, will he?"
Tia was in a state of confusion, feeling as if the fur on her tail was about to catch fire.
Without thinking twice, she picked up her wine glass and gulped it all down in one go!
Give yourself courage!
And Su Lan's last line of lyrics also ended at the same time:
"There lie the most abundant gifts, waiting for lost travelers to gather them to their heart's content."
"A deep bond is a bond, bottoms up!" He followed closely behind Tia and drank it all in one gulp.
It must be said, this wine is indeed potent.
As soon as she swallowed the alcohol, Su Lan felt the effects rising, her head spinning, the moon appearing as two, and Tia casting several more shadows.
Tia was in no better shape; her eyes were glazed over, and her body began to weaken.
For some reason, she suddenly stood up and swayed as she walked toward the tent.
"Where are you going? I haven't finished talking yet!"
Su Lan quickly pulled her to her seat and handed her a freshly filled wine glass.
The second toast hasn't been finished yet, it's not time to rest!
He mustered his strength and began to recite the "Dream Interpretation Verse":
"A tribute to those suffering and hidden wounds."
"Let the fragrance of the soul flow under this crimson moonlight."
"I have crushed all my heavy past experiences in the middle of this sea of flowers."
Tia understood.
"Su Lan is comforting me! He knows the fear I felt as a child being hunted by hunters, and he knows the despair I felt when I was almost used as a sacrifice!"
"I deliberately arranged these in the sea of flowers to heal my past!"
"Su Lan is so observant; she must have asked around from Sister Seraya!"
She looked at Su Lan, her eyes growing even gentler.
But Su Lan was already struggling to remember the words, and didn't notice Tia's gaze at all.
He read out the last two sentences:
"Descend, following this intoxicating fragrance."
"Please accept this gift, and may all your fear and bitterness be transformed into peaceful sleep tonight."
Tia was deeply moved.
"Waaaah, Su Lan is so gentle! He's going to use this drink to wash away all my fear and suffering!"
She composed herself and prepared to respond.
Su Lan suddenly picked up her wine glass and gently clinked it against Tia's glass.
"I'll have a second glass, bottoms up!"
"Oh...okay..." Tia didn't have much of her own opinion at the moment. If Su Lan told her to drink, she would obediently finish it.
Su Lan breathed a long sigh of relief.
Even for him, reciting these two poems was quite embarrassing.
If the first poem was indeed like flirting, then the second poem is more like revealing the true intentions.
They even used the phrase "Descent!", which is clearly a summoning ritual, right?
Su Lan figured it was probably something else he had come up with to fight against the Moon Goddess Church, but she wondered what kind of trouble it would attract and how dangerous it would be...
Things are progressing very smoothly, and now we just need to deal with whatever comes our way.
After two glasses of wine, the medicine took full effect.
Tia was the first to give in. She felt dizzy and her eyelids drooping. Her body swayed and she fell limply towards Su Lan.
"You can only hug me... hug me... I'm contaminated, not now..." Before falling completely asleep, she tugged at Su Lan's sleeve and murmured:
"I want to sleep on the left pillow..."
After saying that, Tia burped, her mouth full of the taste of medicine.
"What do you mean, 'hug you'? The pillow on your left side?" Su Lan shivered, snapping back to reality for a moment.
No, what kind of adult content is this ferret imagining?
He was just reciting a spell to fulfill his last wish, right?
Su Lan helped Tia up, yawned, and also felt a bit sleepy.
Seeing that there was still a little wine left in the pot, he shook it and poured it into a cup.
"Wealth and wine should not be wasted."
He gulped it down, picked up Tia, and stumbled towards the tent.
He tossed Tia onto the mat, quickly covered her tail and the blanket, then leaned against the side and closed his eyes.
Not long after, a sleepy female voice echoed in the void.
"...Is dinner ready? Who called me for dinner?"
The voice paused, as if searching for a target.
She was suddenly pleasantly surprised:
"Wow! What a huge sea of Netherworld Flowers! A near-superhuman little guy, plus a remnant of the race, specially induced this dream. Delicious, delicious!"
"The lyrics aren't very good," she clicked her tongue, seemingly with some regret.
"What unique and extraordinary mental power? What prey has lowered its guard and is on the dinner table? Don't miss it..."
"And there are some aged, fermented delicacies already laid out in the middle of the altar. Follow the aroma and come quickly, so you can eat and drink your fill before you can sleep soundly..."
"That's so tacky."
Suddenly, a shadow seemed to fall over the world.
Under the shadows, the flowers of the underworld paled in comparison, and even the red moon lost its original luster.
Everything around seemed to have stopped, and everything was quiet.
Only the sounds of "humming" as the animals ate echoed through the flower field.
The sound suddenly stopped.
"Why is someone disturbing my meal?"
"Your place is rather messy. Oh well, since this meal was really good, I'll help you out!"
