Chapter 239 - 239: Ch 239: New Lead on the Magus World

After the bath was over, the boss invited everyone to have a dinner with him. The chefs were already working hard to cook a grand feast, so all the preparations for this dinner was already completed.There was no reason for Weiss and Elise to reject this invitation, so they obviously accepted the offer.

But while everyone else went to the dining room immediately, Weiss and Elise came to the bedroom of the boss with the excuse of getting a few things from their luggage.

So, while Apep enjoyed her meal and Elise started to play with her, Weiss started to quickly go through the documents that Apep had found.

She was not really taking a detailed looks at this but still, for Weiss, this simple glance was enough to find out if there were any interesting and useful information in the documents.

There was a lot of papers but very surprisingly, Weiss was done going through all of them in less than 5 minutes. The vast majority of the documents having mundane sells record and nothing else was obviously one of the reasons for this super fast efficiency.

After Weiss was done, she calmly left the room with Elise while Apep was hiding in her clothing. Everything looked natural but Weiss was already planning to sneak out in the night.

And the reason for this sudden plan of hers was a piece of information that Weiss had gotten. Among the things that Apep had recorded, there was a diary that belonged of the boss.

In that diary, he had mentioned some information about a man named Evan who also had some connection with the world of the magi just like Mathius had.

After learning about this man, Weiss really wanted to meet with him. So far, her only source of information about the magus world had been Mathius, which was not a good thing. So Weiss really wanted a second source to verify the information that she already had and also to learn something new.

That was why, having a conversation with this man was so important for Weiss. And according to the information, night was the only time when this man was willing to meet anyone to discuss business.

So Weiss did not want to wait and was planning to come in contact with this person tonight. So she needed to think of a way to not sleep in the same room as Elise and the boss.

Weiss could just make everyone to fall asleep but in that case, Elise would miss out on her fun. So Weiss thought that the best possible solution was for her to sleep in the different room.

As for how she was going to get a different room from the boss, Weiss already had a plan in mind. So she went to the dining in order to fulfill this plan of hers.

Actually, Weiss's plan in this regard was not complex at all. In the dinner table, she was going to act as if one of the food items had an allergic reaction with her.

So as Weiss would get sick for this reason, the boss would be force to give her a separate room. He would definitely not be in the mood to have fun in the night if someone sick was sleeping just beside him.

In a nation like this where apothecaries were not rare, Allergy was not really an unknown disease. So someone as knowledgeable as this boss here should be aware of how this sickness worked.

As for why Weiss was going with the allergy route and not simply the food poisoning route, it was quite straightforward. She was trying to protect the cooks.

In case of food poisoning, the cooks would be held responsible for this incident. But for allergy, no one would be blamed as it was no one's fault. So Weiss was using this as an excuse.

So even with the plan in mind, Weiss and Elise both actually enjoyed the dinner quite a bit. Then when the dinner was about to almost over, Weiss manipulated the ancient force inside her to show the symptoms of serious allergy.

The effect of this was exactly what Weiss had speculated. She was immediately given extra care and a different guest room to rest and recover.

In order to meet him, Weiss needed to ask the owner of this old restaurant and pay him an advance of 5 gold coins. And after that, she would immediately be able to meet with this person called Evan.

This might be a high cost for regular people but to anyone who wanted to buy a decent amount of magic items, 5 gold would be nothing for them. So this was a good way to filter the useless ones out who were just curious about him.

So, while knowing the full process, Weiss entered the restaurant while covering her face and body with a cloak.
